it all started with the electric locks

One day I noticed that the passenger front door lock button didn't work, the unlock works though. Then it progressed into the keyless lock function did not work, the horn will chirp but the doors do not lock. The doors do not lock when the transmission is put into gear. The only door lock that still work are the drivers side and the one in the cargo area. Now, the automatic headlight function has stopped working! Did I mention that the emergency brake light occasionally flashes when the brake is not engaged. Is it possible that all of theses function are tied together. I took it to a Ford dealer overseas but not being familiar with American cars they could not find the problem. Any info would be a great help. One other question, oil pressure guage stays bottomed out when the car is cold and the check engine light stays on until the guage pops up to normal. The oil pressure was checked by a ford dealer and they told me the pressure is fine and that something about a metal plate on the back of the guage was cold and that was causing the guage not to respond correctly? Sounds a little screwy to me, any ideas

I have a similar issue, I suppose just starting from what you're describing.
The lock function of the driver's side door doesn't work (once in a great while it will), and the vehicle stopped locking the doors when I hit the 20/30? limit.
I was on another forum and I remember someone saying that the "gm unit" behind the CD player may be jacked up... and that it would be a few hundred bucks guaranteed to fix. I'm the do-it-yourself type when it comes to screwing around on my car or truck, so if I could find a new unit I'd probably do it myself -- but I'm still not even sure this is the problem.

Don't know your year or model but my 99 v8 had the same oil pressure gauge problem. The service writer at ford knew right away what it was as they had a bulletin out on the issue (according to him).
It's been two or three years since I had the fix. If I remember correctly, they replaced the oil sending unit. But there may have been more to the repair than that.
Ask the service writer at ford to dig a little deeper for tsbs. I believe 2000's and 2001's may have also had the issue. Or maybe someone here has access to tsbs and can help out?

I am not sure about the door locks, Everbody says my 97 is posessed. I used a lithium spray (you can also use lock graphit, WD40 is worthless) found at the auto store and sprayed the locks, they were sticking causing the auto locks to go off and unlock and stick in the lock position when I try to open them. Check to make sure all your fuses are working physcally pull them and make sure they are not damaged, in the car and under the hood. Ususally when the brake light starts flashing it is the breaking system, it is designed to flash when you are low on break fluid sensing the breaks pads are very worn, a hole leaking break fluid some where or a sensor is bad. When the check engine light comes on it sets a code, and unless the dealer has a machine to pull the codes for american cars you might not find it. They do sell hand held computers to read codes you could order one, pull the code and call an american dealership to find out what the code is.
