may be a bent spring or bad shock causing the car to tip to that side making the tire rub and scrape the ground. are you running the factory size tires?

I noticed that on my 87 GTA, shortly after rebuilding her, that the larger front sway bar in combination with just a slightly wider front tire than what came on the car made the tire rub the sway bar when turning in a lock to lock situation. I have beed told that a simple thin spacer plate between the hub & the wheel would solve this problem.

spring sag or broken springs, tires too tall or wide, or broken rubber bump stops are all possible problem areas.

Your steering and/or suspension is simply worn out more than likely.Shocks will help for awhile, but wear out in 15k miles or so,if your springs are in the condition i think they are(20 yrs old).

A bad steering center link, pitman or idler arm, or tie rod end(*A* frame busings too) can be the reason for rubbing too,as well as a possible safety hazard.

It could be that 20 years of front-wind has warped the plastic inner fender closer to the tire, but if you cant figure out what the problem is,take it somwhere and have it looked at.Make sure a wheel isnt about to fall off or somthin.
