Cherry red exhaust, still not good

My 92 XJ, that had the cherry red exhaust, is still not running good.
It has 164k miles, no check engine light. It will start, but is very rough,
stumbles, and wants to die at low rpms. If I get it over 2,000 rpms, it
runs good and smooth. I have replaced plugs,wires,cap, rotor,O2 sensor,MAP sensor, throttle body position sensor, checked resistance of
injectors (multi-point), all OK. Any other suggestions?

Do you still have the catalytic coverter removed???

Is the exhaust pipe still heating up???

do you know where the egr valve is for this model?

Yes, cat is still off jeep. I have not let it run long enough to see if exhaust gets hot, due to running so bad.

No, I cannot find EGR valve on this jeep. It is not where it shows it in my Haynes book, but that was different years. Does my 92 have one?

i don't have book on that model either........looking for one though. I would begin by tracing the vacuum lines from the intake. should be a take off going to an egr valve. this can get clogged causing the egr valve to stick in one position. Does it run ok when you first crank it up? if so.....could be your computer( i hope not) but when cars first crank generally they run off of information from a chip... then when they reach operation temp the computer gets info from all sensors... O2, tps, map...etc.. if this communication is not right then there could be problems. check all connections for sensors,(spray with QDcleaner) and check all vaccum lines. hopefully you'll find an EGR valve. if you do hit it with the back side of a screwdriver.

Jeep runs bad immediately after starting, very ruff,
but over 2,000 rpms, it runs better. Still cannot locate EGR valve, tried tracing vacuum lines, but no luck. My Haynes book shows it in plain sight,
right on the side of the intake manifold, but nothing is there on my jeep.

the one for the 1993 should be for yours.... its all pretty close from 1991-1996. so you don't see any loose vacuum lines?

No loose vacuum lines, still no EGR valve, still runs bad.

Had a similar problem with my 90.....but in my case it was a vacuum line that ran to the map sensor from the throttle body that was broken....might be worth checking in to ....

I have checked all vacuum lines for leaks, and could not find any. I just blew my starter, maybe from using to much trying to get my jeep running.
