radio stuck on TAPE...any suggestions???

A few days ago a tape got stuck in my radio. Fortunately i was able to get it out but now the radio still thinks there is a tape in there and displays "TAPE" whenever i turn it on. I know the entire system still works because i can hear the weather band (WB button). So my question is, does anyone have any idea how to get the radio and/or CD to work again?

I'm guessing you forcefully removed the offending cassette tape? Try pushing the EJECT button if you haven't already. If that hasn't worked, the only thing I can think of is that you may have damaged or broken the part that engages to eject mechanism. Fiddling arouns in the cassette compartment may trigger it to release.
