change point distributor to electronic

I want to change from the old point type distributor to the electronic style with the brainbox etc. I am putting this on a 302 in a 66 stang. Every time I wire it up it melts the resin off the back of the brain box. the box heats up but it works. It can't be wired right this way. What is the right way to wire this set up? Thanks in advance

It sounds like you're missing a resistor somewhere in the installation. Search on Google. I've pulled up the instructions many times using it.
