Wiper Arm

The other day I shut my car off with the wipers on. We then had freezing rain. Now my passenger side wiper arm gets stuck all the way to the left. If you give it a little push, it will go back, but something isn't quite right.

Does anyone know if there is a connecting rod between the two wipers to drive them? If so, maybe this became disconnected, not drawing the passenger wiper back to its proper place.

If someone could please help, that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is a wiper linkage that connects both wipers to the motor. Don't really see too many problems with those. A lot more problems with the nuts that hold the wiper arm on come loose, might want to check that first. If it's tight, take off the wiper cowl and check out the linkage. Or take it to the dealer and let them worry about it.

Thanks for the quick response lowsonoma1999.

Unfortunately, i don't think something like that is covered under warranty is it? I bought the car used, so i don't think the warranty is worth a crap. I have approximately 38,000 miles on the car.

In case I have to open it up, where are the bolts/screws/fasteners to open up the wiper cowl? Are they located under the hood, or are they visible outside near the wiper?

You still have a 5yr, 60k mile warranty on the car. Something like that is kinda iffy to whether it will be covered under warranty. That is pretty much going to be up to the dealer.

All the bolts/screws that hold on the wiper cowl should be visable from the outside. I don't remember whether you have to remove the wiper arms to take the cowl off on the XG.

My brother and I fixed the wiper last night, thanks for the help lowsonoma1999. It turns out when I tried to tighten the nut, I didn't do it hard enough.(I didn't want to completely wreck it)

Thanks again. Your of great help!
