dang you just want to start a war. check out the FAQ thread at the top of this page. Please lock this thread admin.....do a bit of search, we know you are new but still read the FAQ and everything before you post anything else about these engines....

ok first off read the FAQ

second use the search function to find the other threads on the same subject

and just to help out a little, they are both very good engines well designed and both have advantages and didsadvantages, you need to figure out what you want to do dirft/drag/auto-X etc. etc.

the SR has a better balance 50/50 which does make a difference in autoX and drifting, the sr has a higher rev and is a square motor good for drifting, then again the CA18DET might be a better choice in drifting if it wasn't for the age of those [higher redline easier to rev and is iron so stronger if less HP/torque], comes to you turbo'd

the KA produces much more torque, made for the us cars easily repaired here, rebuilt properly with forged internal can with stand high boost, it is a better engine to use in drag [1/4 mile] the power band starts and peaks at a lower rpm, it is iron compared to the SR's aluminum, the problem with turboing it is that if you don't rebuild it will have alot of miles on it and the bottom end will be weaker than the SR simply becuase it wasn't built for boost [most people argue that the iron of the KA is stronger, but stock to stock the SR is becuase it was designed with forced induction in mind]
