temp control unit

Hi everyone hope someone can help on my first visit to this forum.
The temp control turns on and off when it feels like it. I nhave checked the 2 plugins in the back but get no results if it decides not to come on. Then i will reinstall it and out of the blue it comes back on. The wires all seem ok has anyone any suggestions? Thanks in advance
