iPod2Car/Amp installation

iPod2Car/Amp installation. 2004 JGC 4.0 owner needs help. 2 questions. 1) Has anyone installed iPod2Car adapter in newer Jeep? How do you get to the CD Changer port, this is where I am supposed to connect the iPod2Car. 2) I have a 5 channel amplifier collecting dust, can this be installed to work with the factory stereo?

My guess would be to pull out the stereo and look on the back of it for your changer port. Yes you can hook up an amp to your factory stereo system. Does your amp only have RCA inputs or does it have wire inputs too?

Yes and no, depends on your factory set up, if you have a factory Amplifier, this needs to be bypassed manually before you can hook up an aftermarket amplifier. If there is no factory amp, then you just wire it's outputs in place of your radio outputs to your factory speaker wires. Jeep usually installs the factory amplifiers under one the the back seats, it will say Infinity on it. Need more help, let me know or email me directly. Later
