leds in air vents to switch

I want to hook up some led's to my car in the air vents and i know how to mount them etc... and I know that the postitive end is the longer end of the LED but what I want to know is how do I wire it to the switch. I know that I wire to postitive end to the ACC im pretty sure and then I think mabye the negative to the ground but I dont know how to hook it up to the batter. Any help would be appericated. Please let me know what i am doing and also how would I connect them all to one switch?

If you hook the pos to ACC then it will come on when you turn your car on. Then you wouldn't need a switch because it would always be on when you car is turned on. Although if you want to run a switch run a wire from the ACC to one end of a switch and then from the other end of the switch to the led pos. And neg does go to ground.

why do you want to light the inside of your air vents nasty interior? the idea is nice, but the vents are gonna get nasty, and you won't want them lit up...

It's not to light up the interrior of it. It's to give the entire vent a nice glow to it, it more or less shines out of the vent, you can't see the inside of the vent. If done right it can look very cool. I like the idea but I haven't decided if I am going to do it yet.

first: neg goes to body ground not battery ground.
pos. can go two ways. you can either run wire from lights to switch through firewall then pos. batt. if you want control of on\off. or run lights to ignition <on> switch (check fuse box for correct wire) so they are on when car is on ..BUT.. do you really want them on ALWAYS when the car is on? i ran all mine (25 leds) through switch cuz there's no reason for them to be on during tha day.

body ground is battery ground

sounds like a good idea to me, i think the led's would give the interior a nice touch.

The best way would be to use a test light and find a terminal in the fuse pannel that is hot with the lights on. This way would eliminate the manual switch and they would only be on with the lights.

ground to your body 97civicX not BATTERY . any way if they are illegal to run in your state due to distraction of other drivers(what a cop would say) a toggle switch is better than wiring to light fuse

but if you still want them on when your headlights or parking lights are tured on .
run hot wire through firewall and splice into parking lights hot wire
