I have a 99 chevrolet 1500 pickup 4x4 and it seems like it its really cold natured as far as the transmission changing on really cold mornings even when it has been warmed up for 15 minutes. Can anyone tell me why this is happening.?

I believe what you are experiencing is normal. The trannies are designed
to shift at higher rpm's until the truck warms up. You have to go
like 5 miles or so before it will shift normally. At least that is how
my 2000 Silverado was. Even though it is normal, it drove me nuts!!

when you let the engine warm up, it is doing exactly that...warming up the engine.

The tranny will warm to it's opperating temperature as the vehicle is driven.

But, do still continue to allow the engine to warm thoroughly before driving anywhere--it's hard on it to drive while it's cold
