'95 Blazer - Manual Transfer Case
Had some very bad weather here, deep snow and sub-zero temps.
Put the Blazer into 4 LO and had a hard time getting out of it. Finally managed to get it into 4 HI, but won't go into 2 HI now.
Shifter just stops at 4 HI and won't go any further.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

Since you have the temps you say, perhaps road slush has gotten up on the linkage. Just a thought. Do you have a heated garage or a torpedo to shoot heat up under the truck?

No, have neither. But may be able to put it inside the warehouse at work for a few hours.

Well, I put the vehicle in a warm building long enough today to melt away any slush, but it still won't shift into 2HI. Could there be some linkage that has been bent or maybe worked itself loose? If the problem is vacuum-related, would I still be able to put the shifter into 2HI?
Thanks, again.

Problem solved. After finally being able to look under the vehicle, we found that a section of the fuel line was interfering with the linkage. Last month, the fuel pump and filter were replaced and I had not needed to go into 4 wheel drive until this last big winter storm. Guess I won't be going back to that garage again.

hm well here are my two cents absed upon my dumbness. I used to have a problem the first eyar I ahd my blazer switchign from 4lo back to 4 hi even. My problem was I did not know I had to put the vehicle into neutral. I figured it was like my dads jeep where you just need to be stopped. I ahd a hell of a time switchign out of 4lo until I figure out to put my blazer into neutral and low and behold it switched perfectly. as for the not switching into 2 hi from 4 hi the only thing I can think of is maybe you have a vent tube blocked that is not allowing the vacum to release itself and switch abck into 2 hi. I rememebr a post soemtime ago talkign about a vent hole being placed somewhere before but srry I can't rememebr where exactly the vent might be. even if you thawed it out the vent could still be plugged due to the ice melting and now instead of plugged with ice it might be plugged with water. That is all i can think of.
