hi. Mine (all 5 doors ) did that the first winter I owned it. ( a 91 2.0 16v wagon)
I warmed mine up inside, after an hour they'll come around. since I dont own a garage either.I then sprayed white lithium grease inside the latches and lock mechanisms. Working them over and over until I was satisfied with the results.I literally took apart the interior panels. It Worked an entire 5 whole years after that, in which I had to apply it all again. No big deal. It solved the freezing issues. As you already know, Cold air is hard on any vehicle. But, When you wake up, and the radio weatherman says a high of +9 above, plan on them being a bit budgey. I also vaselined the rubber sashes too.Lightly coat em with a forefinger. (That ripping sound is like pulling a 3 day flattened dead cat off the turnpike.)
