Coilovers.

Alot of people say that coilovers suck. Is this true?

Give your opinion on those please, as I am looking at those as a serious choice.

quality sleeve coilovers can be alright, but only with HIGH QUALITY aftermarket shocks.

cheap sleeve coilovers, such as the ones you find on ebay, do suck, they ride worse than stock 95% of the time.

Full coilover systems like Teins are the best suspension you can buy for your car.

I'm running GC coilovers on Tockico Illuminas, spring rates are 325/450. The importan thing is not the sleeve themselves, but the springs, and what spring rates they have. With GC you can go with thier recomendation or choose your own rates, and that should go for any good vendor. I wouldn't buy coilovers if they don't list the spring rate or let you change it. Knowing what rate to choose is the problem though, it requires some learning and some research, and knowing what you intend to use the car for. My seutp is a little too soft for road race, decent enough to autox with, but is great for daily driving 35k a year, and setting the rears to full soft at the dragstrip and pulling 1.5-1.7s on street tires. :) Its all a compromise, choose wisely. Even going with Tiens, I would still have to choose my own rate.... There is a LOT to know here, perhaps searching using my username will turn up some of the novels I've posted in the past.

Definatly searching your name helped alot......you really do write ALOT...very in-depth in some parts, vague in others, but all-in-all VERY good info. Its like browsing through a library when I search your name......3,000+ posts? sheesh

LMAO :D Glad it helped. There are two reasons for the occasional vaguery, one is that I take too much for granted, the other is that I already wrote it all in depth and writting all out for the 20th time is boring. :D I compiled some of my old posts and saved them to hard drive, but I lost the drive about a month ago and none of it was backed up. The idea was to get that stuff up on the website. Oh well. Maybe if poeple come across the larger novels I've posted you could PM me a link. Getting that stuff copied on to the webpage would be easier for people than searching for it everytime...
