broken fuel pump help

i have a 1992 isuzu rodeo with a broken fuel pump does anybody know how to fix it. is it something i can do at home or should i go have it done it is not an in tank pump.

here is a write up on a +98 Rodeo, but it is pretty much the same for any car. I replaced one in 1994 on a 1982 Pontiac J2000 (actually we were swaping out the gas tank, but it is the same idea). I think it took about 2 hours to do it.
