Heat gauge

Is it ok for the heat gauge to move between 150-210 degrees? It will reach the higher temps went the van is not moving and cool down whole in motion. I have never seen this in any other vehicle. PS (I just had the head gasket changed.)

This is a 98 Transport

ON the road the windstream provides enough cooling and the thermostat controls the coolant flow and maintains a nearly constant temperature. When idling, the temperature goes up and then the electric fans (controlled by the computer) start, cool down, and stop...and again, thus the swing between say 180 and 200. A larger swing is also possible, or maybe the coolant temperature sensor is a little bit lazy and takes long before informing the computer to start and stop the fans........by the way......do the fans start when the vehicle is at idle and the needle tops?

Yes it does. I opened the radiator cap when it was running and added a little more anti-freeze and the needle seem a little more stable.


PS. Any reply to the light in the radio?
