Looks nice & clean, great choice of rims!! I think it would be a good idea of re-painting it.

those are the rims that came with it, i took these pics on the same day i painted it, i just waited till it was dry to the touch, so after a week, ima try to sand it smooth, but if it dont work then its back to the drawing board, does brake fluid strip duplicolor by the way?

Looks great! I used those wheels on my grocery getter accord, and yes I've used brake cleaner to strip duplicolor.

Is it your camera or do you have loads of orange peel on the car?

Nice start. :) One thing though, are the side skirts on the wrong way? Nice ride height. It's not actually that low from out of the box is it?

I used auto-zone DOT 4, DOT 3 works fine, but thats just what I had lying around from my last brake job. Just let it soak for about 45min-1 hour and use a old tooth brush to scrub it with, and the paint will fall right off. I believe there is a detailed step by step in the "how to" section so check it out before you start.

Flip those side skirts after you strip it. Looks like it'll be a cool project. :D
It seems to me that the "BLITZ" decal will be too far forward to be seen; up under the cowl of the hood... :dunno:

Make sure you use automotive primer; it looks more like paint crazing than just orange peel. If the brake fluid doesn't work, try 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. :)

Don't use brake cleaner, use brake fluid, around Dot 3, or 4. Brake cleaner will probably melt the plastic. Pretty sure its all in the FAQ.

lol i meant to say brake fluid sorry, yea i just realized the side skirts were on the wrong way which sucks, i might just leave it, and yes i did lower this car, and i have painted with this primer before, its duplicolor plastic primer, and this is the first time its done this...

The paint didn't look bad, 800-2000 grit probally would have cured it.
ATMDC
12-29-2004, 07:23 PM
yea thats what i usually do when that happens and it comes out glass smooth, but it just takes longer, the whole car isnt like that, just that spot and like and spot on the hood, but i decided to turn the side skirts around so im stripping and repainting it :)
