I was just curious if anyone liked to read anything something thats cool or exciting to them. For the last few months I've been addicted to old literature. My names Justin and I'm a literature addict :). For example I just finished Dante's Inferno for the 2nd time (I read it once back in high school) and am now starting Ulysses by James Joyce and I also got a hold of a copy of The Odyssey by Homer (Doh! ) I was just curious if anyone reads anything good (or at all:confused: ) jk.:)

NIce to see that literature has not died completely with the advent of the home computer. My wife is a part-time librarian,so I am lucky enough to have free access to some of the best books ever written.Which is a shame, because I much prefer the lighter stuff.Currently reading Bill Bryson -Down Under(a travel diary of Mr B's trip across Australia)and a sea story by Peter Tonkin(after Alistair Maclean et al )-Powerdown.

I prefer ink printed onto pages made from processed wood in patterns that are recognisable as letters of the english language.

Pictures are ok, but I find words more involving.

This dictionary is a great read, it contians lots of words, and even offers definitions of them.

Things like clay tablets, and old reed scrools hold little to no appeal to me, thier either to heavy or to fragile, and getting dust in the bed really itches.

However just recently I read a "book" useing a computer. Downloaded an H.G.Wells story and read it when I got bored. Interesting way of doing it, but the monitor dosnt sit very well in my lap.

:D

My literature level at the moment is sitting at High Performance Imports level (magazine). As I don't have the patients to read anything longer at the moment.

I used to read alot of Tom Clancey books. Can't seem to get interested in the "classic" novels

I like Stephen King, The Stand is my favorite. I also like reading WWII stories, especially those written in first person. I dunno why but WWII was always my favorite section in history during my school years.

Other than magazines and computer books and what I listed above I am not really an avid reader.

I am a readeraholic. I'll read anything I can get my hands on.
My regular list of material include Scientific American (haven't missed an issue in 20 yrs), the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News every day, worldnetdaily.com and startfor.com
For general reading books - everything from Cussler, Koontz, King. Tons of Sci-fi books and fantasy novels. Hundreds of text books and "how to" books. Reference material and thousands of pamphets. Tons of magazines and biographies.

I have litterally a few thousand paperbacks that I cant even put on my shelves because they are full of hardbound books.

Being a speed reader sure is handy

I love a good murder mystery or thriller. My favourite authors are Patricia Cornwall, Dean Koontz, Anne Rice and Stephen King. I used to read a huge amount of books but am finding that I don’t have as much time as I used to and so am reading less and less. :(

I love to read SciFi and survival books. They are about the only types of books that I can really get into and actually finish.

I think later I am going to try to find the Lord of the Rings series. I loved the movie and hope the books are just as good.

Are there online web sites that offer computer novels?

i like books that make me think, and ummm yea

currently im reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X, im surprised i had never heard about Malcolm X until now. he was a very important person concerning the black uh movement thingie in america...whatever u wanna call it. anyways it is a really interesting book and it makes you think about your religion, and blacks and about their history and how white people have interacted with them in the pass, a very good read, i only have abot 200 pages left :)

I'm currently reading Lord of the Rings just because it's one of those books you just have to read in your lifetime.

I've read Dragonlance, Michael Crichton, Christopher Pike, all the Space Odyssey books, Hardy boys, Shakespeare, Nancy Drew, and RL Stine to name a few. Most of the literature books I've read have been for school, with Shakespeare, Cather in the Rye, and The Stranger being my favorites.

Me too! Although same as the last time I picked it up to read, I’m having a hard time getting into it. I guess it’s not the style of book that I’m used to reading.

Well I'm glad to see so many people replyed to my post :D I'm also glad to see that books are still popular even thought there are so many more "stimulating" things out there (TV, etc.) (or at least some people find it more stimulating) I have the whole set of the lord of the rings including the Hobbit (which is the only one I've read so far) I'm currently stuck on Dante's "Devine Comedy" (the inferno, purgatorio, and Paradiso) which is rather strange because I have very little intrest in religion but I find his books very interesting. I am currently on purgatorio, and I have already read the inferno, It's awesome the tortures that the dammed endure are kinda creepy as well as disgusting at some points. well before this gets any longer I will end it. happy reading :D

I read LoTR at least once a year - every year since I was about 12. Nowadays I read a lot of Bernard Cornwall's Sharpe series about a rifleman officer during the Napoleonic Wars and in India. Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon series, Dune series, Amtrak Wars by Patrick Tilley, George McDonald Frasers Flashman series (Crimean hero who is a complete and utter coward and bounder but always ends up on top... quite literally sometimes). Add to that Tom Clancy and Robert A Heinlein (I started reading Heinlein when I was 10). In fantasy I go through Dragonlance and Darkstone novels.

I also read classics such as The Tain Bo Cuailnge (Celtic legend), the Illiad, Jane Austen (I really didn't want to admit this), and any of the Greek and Roman historians particularly Herodotus and Plutarch.

I guess I'm a bookworm when I'm not being a 'puter nerd or a revhead :D

Im currently reading a book by James Reese called The Book of Shadows no, it's not like the Blair Witch sequal. This actually has a point to it. I enjoy books that challenge me and have a very interesting storyline, as well as philosophical reading.

I agree with Setanta. With all the time I spend on the computer and reading, it's hard to find time to work on the car.

Favorite authors are Tom Clancy, John Sandford, and Robert Heinlein.
