parking break light wont go off/lccks

i have a 95 manual contour and about a week and a half ago the parking break light started coming on when i turned a corner-i figured it was just cold (cause its winter and my car does sit outside and freezes) but lately its been coming on and staying on for long periods of time-i have a really long drive coming up and would like to have it fixed by then, any ideas what it might be/what i can do to fix it?

I have also been having a major problem with my front passenger door. at first it would just stick a little bit when i tried to unlock it (manual locks), and now it wont open at all from the inside without a major fight so i just give my keys to whoever and have them open it... again anyideas and what can i do to fix? my driver door also does this-i found this out by accidently locking it one day and getting locked in my car and had to wait for a friend to come-throw my keys out the sun roof to her and have her unlock me-thanks!

Do you use your parking break regularly. During cold weather like this the e-brake cables tend to stick sometimes.

Sounds like your doors needs some lubricant.

yes, my drive way is on a hill so i have to use it. I took out the center consol today and found the button thing was sticking so hopefully thats the end of that i have tried lubricant on the door, it doesnt work. i will press it to have it unlock and it just doesnt do anything, its like the inside of the lock doesnt work-i guess im gonna have to give in and take it to a dealer here soon, any idea how much a new lock system thing would cost?

The brake light will almost never go off now. it goes off sometimes when i put the foot brake on to slow down or stop but then comes right back on when i take my foot off. I drove 150 miles and back for a dog show this last weekend and it was almost all freeway time and it didnt come on on the freeway. The weather has been in the 20's to low 40s if that has anything to do with it.. I know for the 95s the wiring harness has a recall out on it and ihavent gotten that taken care of, is that maybe it? also when i get out i smell a tiny bit of like burnt rubber but that might be my belt, it has been sqeakin lately but i can take care of it. and also does anyone know about the lock problem? do i just need to get all new locks and if i do would it be possible to change manual locks to automatic ones? thanks...
