PBA, DEA, FOP Cards ... Most Useful Thread About Cards. Your Story?

Hi,

I just got a 2004 PBA card from a distant cop friend. He said, use this card to get out of tickets. If you park illegally, put it near the windshield...

I read many things about these cards, some say they work, some say they don't work. Some say, don't give it to the cop, just make sure he sees it. Some say these cards don't work and the only ones that work are the "Family member" PBA cards. Some say DEA cards are better than PBA. Some say 2004 cards don't work in 2005

Let's clear this once and for all.

Which card do you have? Did it work for you? How did you present it to the cop? Do these cards sold on Ebay work? Do you have to update the card every year? ..... you get the point.

I think here and now, we'll all benefit from your true mini stories.

Thank you. I believe that members of this forum and I will enjoy and appreciate your answers.

Well, first of all, I dont have one. Second of all, theres no such thing as a "get out of jail free card". (or tickets in this case).. the only thing that might get you a little leeway is if you have the cards or stickers from donating money to the police, or highway patrol, or the stickers for being a family member of an officer, or employed by the police department, or whatever. They might respect that, and be more understanding to your situation if they believe you are concerned with safety on the roads. But its not like a "no tickets card". Theres no such thing.

What the heck is a PBA, DEA and FOP cards? I doubt that they will work. And those stickers saying that you donated money to their union might not work if the cop is not happy with the union

uhhhhhh.....parking illegally - parking in a place that you are not supposed to park in, or parking in a place for longer than the alloted period of time.....kind of....self explanitory.....

as far as the PBA, DEA, & FOB cards, i have no clue. although i have heard that if you have the sticker for donating money to the local police department that they will be more likely to be lenient

Well I beg to differ. Parking illegally is not self explanatory. What about parking in a legal parking area in a stolen car? Is that parking illegally? I really wanted a definition from the original poster. The reason I ask the question and expose myself to criticism of supposed stupidity is, I was wondering if a handicapped sticker is considered one of these. I have one and rarely use it. #1. I need the exercise 2. I don't have the need as bad as other people. Especially the Fat, inconsiderate ones I see getting in or out of their car, without a sticker/tag, as I walk by.

These people are too lazy to even make the effort to apply for one even if they could qualify. I don't think fat and /or lazy are qualifications.

Ive known people who borrowed other peoples handicapped cards so they could park in the close stalls. And they were fat and lazy. I think its messed up.

I dunno. My best friends dad is a custom agent at JFK airport. This friend of mine, and his 2 older brothers, always get the newest PBA cards. Now NY has zero tolerance when it comes to drinking and driving. My bud's older brother got pulled over in NY drunk off his ass. What the cop shoulda done was haul his ass of to jail, and later aution off his car, but instead the cop drove my friend's brother to his dad's house. All because of the PBA card. So maybe being related to the actual cop, or what have you, gives you a better advantage. But that night, the PBA card was a get out of jail free card.

Maybe that's why customs has so many so called terrorist problems. Maybe all the terrorists are issued "get out of jail free cards" by the customs officials. Talk about messed up. Ain't it great livin' in the USA.

Welcome to life bucko!

Believe it or not, but being in law enforcement or being related to it has it perks. My story above is an example of it. Lemme break it down for you.

Father is in law enforcement. Father is given so many PBA cards a year. Father gives his son's the PBA cards. One son is pulled over for drinking and driving. Cop, instead of arresting him, drives the son to his fathers house. End of story. Now where is the effing punch line?

You comparing that to Custom agents handing out "get out of free" cards to terrorists is so naive its laughable. Like I said, put down the effing pipe!

Well first of all is the father a customs agent or a law enforcement officer(read what you write). The punch line is he gives the cards out to anyone(he gets so many). But of course it would take some logic and imagination too figure it out, which you seem too lack. As I said it's a joke. Just because you don't get it's not my problem( no sense of humor). Now I'm going to take your advise and not argue with an idiot. "Bucko"( and then he quotes Ronnie Howard). Got any more REALLY original lines bucko. By the way. I have enough manuel dexterity(look it up) I can roll my own, I don't need a pipe.

Why oh why do I even bother...

First off, custom's is a branch of law enforcement. Duh! The get guns and badges and have the authority to arrest you. Ok, so the father gets a certain number of PBA cards a year. Not "so" "many" as you've said above. All people in law enforcment only get a certain number of PBA cards year. Now when he gets them, he doesn't give them to just anyone, he gives them to his sons. Get it? His children. Where you got the idea that he just gave them out to anyone is beyond me. And your telling me I lack logic and imagination? Looks like your imagination is running wild with logic no where in sight. I even broke it down for you, real simple like, for a second time and you still didn't get it.

BTW, I have one hell of a sense of humor but all your responses are far from funny. I don't laugh at idiots. Scatch that. I do laugh at them. Ok BUCKO! I'm sure Ronnie Howard invented the word bucko. And since when is it wrong to quote someone? Oh yeah, when I said put down the pipe I was referring to a crack pipe.

So stop responding. Everything you've posted has been taken way out of context. Quit while your ahead, or far behind as in your case.

I was just in Vermont and we got pulled over for going 47 in a 35mph zone. Funny right? Maybe it's because in VT 93% of driven cars are American and we were on BMW 745Li.

Officer asked for papers, made 2 people in the back buckle up :-) Then he saw the DEA mini badch. He asked who gave it to the driver, driver replied "My friend" and that's it. We still got the tyicket.

I think for 3 reasons.

1. We were on a BMW

2. Driver said that his friend gave the badch. Should have said a family member.

3. We were in VT.

Hope this helps.
