Undo the two 14Mm bolts that are at the head of the starter ( right where it hooks into the tranny bellhouse - rear of engine. ) they are the only bolts going into the starter , Can't miss them. Anywho , Pull those out , drop the starter..put a new one in. Pretty simple , 10 minute job at most.

tru, i don't know about the sixers, but there are some cars that are a bitch and a half to take off the starter...

and don't forget to keep track of which wires go where on the selinoid (god i can't spell)

Check ur flywheel and see if the teeth are gone. And remember you have to know how to shim it properly otherwise your starter will die in a couple months

Shim , why would he need to shim it ? If it didn't come factry shim ther is no need for a shim. I've never encountered a vehicle that needed starter shiming.

if he was putting in an aftermarket higher torque starter or something he may need to shim it to get it to fit right... but factory replacements don't need shims...
