Cooling system seal leak

I've got a 2000 GC that has been leaking coolant from an undetermined location so I finally got under the Jeep and took a closer look. It seems that there is a rubber seal that goes around most or all of the bottom of the engine. I have tightened the bolts that attached the casing and still the coolant leaks out. I am assuming the seal is bad. It is leaking from the front and the rear of the egine. The rear leak looks like where the transmission begins. In the front it it where the cooling fan is attached to the engine block. I am positive this is all coolant that is leaking. But I would like to know if anybody has seen this before and if they have an idea of the cost to repair this.
Thanks in advance!

I have a 94 GC, had a leak as well , replaced all the hoses, double clamped them, checked the overflow tank, replaced the radiator , still leaked , turned out to be the water pump, only other thing I can think of might be a crack in the water jacket , depending on your freezing weather , or severly overheated engine getting cold water added ,

No these leaks are coming from that rubber seal I mentioened theat covers the whole underbody of the engine. It is coming out in the front and in the rear of the engine at the bolts that hold the that "belly" together. Anybody know the name of this part or seal? Maybe know a link to a parts diagram of a 2000 GC?

Sounds like the bearing seal in the water pump is leaking. They will get old and crack. If Antifreeze is changed regulary it provides lube in the form of oil in the antifreeze that keeps the seal and other parts from drying out. The only REAL solution is to replace the water pump...you can add some stuff to the water and hope that it causes the seal to swell up and stop leaking but sometimes that just doesn't work

The sheeting that you are talking about isn't a seal, it's a weather and water sheild that supposed to keep water from splashing on components on engine. If it's coming from there tits probably the weep hole on the water pump, possibly a hole in hose, Dale
