I got the oil changed in my grand am the other day, and I was told that when I brought the car in it was a quart low. I don't think its burning oil, an it's not leaking from what I can see, so any info as to why this happened would be helpful!!

First of all how long has it been since the last oil change in miles.? It is normal for a car to burn oil. Usually the manufacturers have tolerances for what is acceptable oil consumption. Most newer cars usually will burn one quart every 3000 miles. Some burn a quart faster some burn only a minimal amount. But that is normal. Since the oil is new check it every 500 miles and see how long it takes to go through an appreciable amount. Once you see it drop on the stick then add a little more to the crank case. Only if you are burning oil at a high rate, if you see blue smoke or if you see oil leaking then have the car checked by a mechanic.
