Alero Performance Parts

Hey guys, new to the Alero forums here, but i've been part of AF for a while. Just purchased a 2002 Alero GL 4dr, and was wondering what i can do to improve performance. I plan on making this a very nice show car all around, i have the visual upgrades planned out and the prices for everything all laid out, but i'm the kind of guy who likes the whole package. I don't want a car that goes fast but looks like crap, or a car that goes like crap but looks real nice. I find myself in the neutral position with the Alero as far as all that goes...the looks are nice, and the performance from the 3.4L is good also, matches if not outperforms the 3.0L performance in my old Spirit. But i want to improve in all departments. I want it to go like stink and be drop-dead doing it.

I'm done with the introduction, so i'll get to the point. What is available for this car? I'm not talking just engine performance, either. I would like upgraded suspension, brakes, etc., also. What's the point of having all that horsepower if you can't handle it, right?

So, can i get a little help from you guys? Any would be greatly appreciated, and i thank you in advance and hope this is the start of a good thing on this board.

Okay, i guess nobody has anything for me. Well, i've done some looking myself, and i've been finding some good stuff for the Grand Am GT's, but nothing for the Alero's. I'm under the impression that both the Grand Am and Alero were on the same platform, am i right?? And if so, shouldn't the parts made for the GT also fit on the Alero?? The main things i'm asking about are a couple supercharger/turbocharger setups i've found, a pcm, and Borla cat-back exhaust.

These are all for the Grand Am GT, but again, i was under the impression that the mechanical aspects of both cars--drivetrain, suspension, exhaust, computer, etc.-- were shared and pretty much the same. Please, please, PLEASE, can somebody tell me if these parts are interchangable!

i dont know for a fact that they will interchange without having to do some minor modifications. as for being able to find stuff performancewise... i went to a performance shop in town and found that the only thing he can get for me would be an intake system (which i just ordered a cold air intake) a performance chip, headers and exaust..
if you want to talk about looks....there are only 2 different body kits that i've found and they both look identical....sorry man.

The Grand Am and Alero are both N-Bodies and have the same engines for that year. There's a decent amount of stuff for the 3.4 out there Roscoe (and yeh it's mainly interchangable). Look on some sites like:

www.pfyc.com
www.andysautosport.com
www.rsmracing.com

Those sites got good performance as well as visual stuff - check em out

Yeah, the stuff from Andy's Autosport and RSM i know about already, that's some of the stuff i found. I'm glad to hear it should all interchange. Slight modifications won't really bother me, i can have it done either myself, with my dad, or by some people i know. I just didn't want to get something that would take extensive modifications to install...that would be just too much for me to have to do.
