ignition hard to start

when my grandson first got the car
it took a few times to get the car started
so he put new fuel pump filter
also had starter rebuilt
new plugs and wire


it still was taking a few times to turn over
now it will not start at all
the coil was checked by my son and it was getting fire
any help would be good
we also put another battery on it but it did not make any difference
