Hi everyone. I have a '78 cougar and i was wondering if it was possible to remove the vinyl top. And if so how hard of a job this would be and what kinds of problems i might run into.

it shouldnt be that hard but if you do remove it you will need to fill in the holes from the molding and deal with the difference in the paint

but why?

The reason why i want to remove the vinyl is to give the car more of a streamline look to it. do you think i should leave it the way it is?

there isnt a prblem with the streamline look other then to get it there will be body work and you will have to paint the car to make it look good= time and money
that was my worry alot to loose a little
keep me posted on the progress hope it work for you
if you need any tip i am here to help

Thanks, I appreciate the advise. I just hope i don't find to much rust underneath the vinyl. I hope to start on that soon. Thanks.
