Ive taken my cd player apart and cleaned the lens because of previous problems, and now (as far as I know) the lens has to be put in a specific place on the track for it to work. Cant get it to work at all now.

huh. I had the same problem with my factory gm delco cd player. I just junked it and bought a bran new Pioneer deh-6500. I would never go back to factory. How exactally did you clean it? cause when power is applied, the laser should zip right back to the beginning, and look for a disk. If you catch what I'm saying. Maybe you scratched the lense, or maybe used too harsh of a cleaner, and melted something. Who knows. Junk it, its not worth the trouble. Trust me. If you do get it to work again, it will only crap out again in a week. Mine did. it worked great, the juts had the hardest time reading disks. Then I opened it, cleaned it, and it worked for a week, and did the same thing. So I junked it. Good luck with it, and let us know what happens.
