Its almost the same as a d16y8 (96--00 ex) dont know why they put d15b dual vtec? It might be a two-stage vtec but not sure. For that price i KNOW you can get a y8 w/a tranny and ecu for much cheaper!!

Yeah it's the 2-stage vtec. And definently a rip off.

Well, in that case, do any of you know a good supplier of the regular d15b vtec engine? I'm committed to a swap in march and would like to line the engine up as soon as possible.

There is no regular d15b vtec engine. The d15b vtec engines are the 2-stage vtecs. The d16's are the regular SOHC vtec engines.

that looks legit. honda released a d15b that had 3-stage vtec, aka dual vtec. it was a obdII engine.

all the vtec d15b's are jdm(and edm has it too i think). the "regular" vtec d15b are the obdI ones. in 96 is when they introduced the dual vtec system.

Would this be a good choice for an engine swap from the original automatic motor D15B2?
What do you think of the winning bidders price he or she paid? $455.00 plus shipping!

i think a d16z6/y8 would be better, unless you're looking for the best fuel economy and hp. the price sounds typical for a d15b vtec.

Ya know, I've read that site about 5 times over the past 2 years and I never read it right. I always thought they ment the '92-'95 was the 3 stage vtec as well. Wow I definently learned something new today.
