What is the torque spec for those bolts. To tell you the truth, I have always just tighted them down, till I thought it felt right, say about 50lbs from the fell of it. With internal bolts I always use a torque wrench.

no bro i didnt torque mine to any specific amount. just snug them up with a socket wrench at tight as you can get them and use some locktight on the bolts and youll be fine

I'd personally torque the WP and crank, just impact the alt. pulley. Surely you can borrow a torque wrench off someone?

Today I bought a carload of tools at Sears to replace all my F-up'd, mismatched, half missing crap. Be careful lending tools! The Ft lb torque wrenches are around $85. If your doing a lot of your own mods it's a good tool to have to get jobs done right.

I own 3 torque wrenches and unless I'm doing something like rebuilding a motor= main bolts, rods bolts, head bolts etc..., or wheel bearings or something were I feel it really matters, I never really care bout torque specs which accounts for 98% of the time lol

you win
i'm the same way and i only own 1 torque wrench (1/2 drive, 1.5 foot long, ft-lb)

I just had my mechanic install my pullies. I could have done it myself, but I don't have the right tools, all I have is a couple of A-Stands and a couple of sets of Metric and Imperial Sockets.
Oh yeah, and a couple of wrenches and ratchets, and a sparkplug socket. That's it.

that's all you need. a screwdriver properly placed will hold the alternator for you to crank down on. the belt will hold the water pump and crank to some extent, and if you leverage it right you can torque the hell out of the crank bolts without assistance (with the car in gear of course). i used nothing but a couple sockets and wrenches and nothing has come loose yet.

Sorry, guys, but I spent over 4 years wrenching on Hummvees for the Army, and my Torque wrench was always my best friend. "snug" is OK, 45 Ft. Lbs. is to standard. See what I mean? Right down to lug nuts, I torqued EVERYTHING. Still do.
Do it right once, or do it wrong several times.
