03 PASSAT; trunk lock alarm always on

HELP! The trunk lock is broken and the OPEN DOOR alarm will not turn off. AND the car cannot be locked as the auto alarm goes off within minutes because the car thinks it has been breached. Is there a way to at least turn off the alarm sound until we get teh lock fixed??? Many thanks.

The lock problem will be the microswitch at the top of the lock,if you can take off the rear boot trim you could unplug a two wire plug at the switch which should stop the alarm.

Or you could replace the lock mechanism which is about 70 i think and actually have your alarm set
