Seems like whenever I'm driving at night and go over a slight bump or something, all the lights flicker, or go dim for a second or two. Its not just the headlights, but also the lights in the dash, the radio display and the lights in the electronic climate control too...

Any ideas?

Thanks:)

Happy Holidays!!!

I had the same problem with my Cutlas only it was full time not just after a bump. Went on for about 6 months and then one night the car died. I had the alternator replaced and the lights never flickered again. Rick.

Were there any other sympoms other than the flickering of the lights?...

Thanks

None that I remember. All lights flickered even interior lights but most people didn't even notice until I would point it out. The only other symptom was the night the car died completely.

Check and clean the alternator connectors and check for loose grounds throughout the car including some that may be under the flooring on the drivers side.Good Luck

The lights on most 3.8's flicker when you slow down the throttle. Hell most GM products have really crappy alternators that put out high variances in voltage so it usually is just normal.

check body ground in engine compartment usually rattles loose after a couple of moon changes

I was talking to a mechanic and he told me it's most likly just a ground problem and shouldn't be too hard to fix if it ever gets to being a real problem.

Anyway, thanks for all the tips:)
