ok well my 1988 sierra is siting on 235s.. Now i'm lookin for a set of 285's because i read in someones elses question that thats the biggest tire i can fit on the truck... so i was wondering how it would look.,... who hear has there pickup on 285's dose it make a big difference and dose it look way better or no??

if your truck runs a 235 tire, jumping to a 285 is a big deal, the over all tire is bigger around, and will make your speedometer inaccurate, not to ention it could possibly cause brake failure. If jumping to that width, you might want to do a brake caliper upgrade to ensure stopping ability. My truck runs a 265 stock, and yes it is quite a bit wider that a 235.

It looks much better and rides fine. That size will change the speedo and your ratio's. Another words if you struggled to keep a steady 70 mph on the hwy you will have an even tougher time with the 285's.
Unless you have brake problems now I doubt you will notice any difference there. I like the look and the extra tire on the ground so it was worth it to me.
