Any installed this chip on their TB? Does it make any difference? I'm planning to get one so my TB can accelerate more smoothly.
When I currently accelerate, there is a hesitation after 20mph. I have to let go the gas a little and then resume. Anyone have other suggestions?
Thanks.

below is what I got from jetchip sales. I still wonder how much difference it would be to warrant my purchase.

> The difference between the stage 1 and 2 is that a stage 1 is designed for a stock or mildly modified vehicle with modifications such as muffler or air filter, using mid grade fuel. Stage 2 is designed for a modified vehicle with a free flowing air filter or intake, a free flowing exhaust, a 180-degree thermostat, and you must use at least 91 or higher-octane fuel. Stage 2 is more aggressive on the timing curve to take into consideration the free breathing characteristics, lower temp, and high-octane fuel. Neither stage will effect the cruise control. All accesories should function as normal. If there is a problem, it is likely a connection problem.

I need your suggestions about which Jet PCM would be the best match. I own a 04 TB EXT 4.2L I6 engine & with the added length power is way down the go department & fuel economy needs improvement.
I'm planning to purchase a Volant Air Intake, PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer & JBA Evol Exhaust System. The fuel that I use right now is 93 octane & if I get a Jet PCM I will upgrade to a 95 or 96 octane.
Now with this setup, will the Stage 1 be able to accomodate all the mods or should I get the Stage 2 but without changing to a 180 degree thermostat? I'm hesistant to change my stock thermostat since I can't find any data to check if my temperature will be erratic or unchanged plus I can't seem to find any brand that is a perfect match for my engine.
Thanks in advance for your input.

I still haven't gotten a jet chip yet...haven't got enough input here to help... Hope someone can post more information on this topic as I'm interested in performance and saving mpg.

Ive heard mixed results; some people love them, others think they are POS and go with a Westers tune. Only a Westers tune and the jet chip are available for the TB/envoy platform with the I6 4.2L, the V8 can use almost any Tahoe/Yukon mod that has the 5.3L engine specified. Check before you buy. I was going to get a jet chip, then decided to not and buy some other things, and I have a Westers tune hidden in the back of my mind.

Well, I slapped one one my '04 Trailblazer, and I think it was worth the money. I noticed much better engine response and shifting. Not sure on HP gains, but I swear I feel a difference. I had already installed an Airaid cold air intake, TBS, and Borla cat-back dual exhaust. Premium fuel is kind of expensive these days, but you can't put a price on fun.
Does anyone even know where to get a 180-degree thermostat? I haven't found one in my searches.

I think we have some results. Did you go for Stage 1 or 2. Does it help if we upgrade to 180 degree thermostat.

Stage 2. I figured I did enough mods that I'd go for the more performance oriented one. I have no idea about the thermostat. Jet claims that it helps, but I haven't been able to find a manufacturer yet.
