everytime i talk to people about ordering a frontclip or an engine from a company online atleast one person in the group has to make a dumbass remark saying it wont work and blahblah, now if the company starts the motor, does the compression, the leak and some other test to the motor before sent out, dont you think it will work unless you fuck it up installing it yourself? so the question, if you or anyone you know ever ordered the sr20det redtop/blacktop what kind of problems did you have?

They usually state on their website what kind of tests they run, and alot of them have a start up waranty thing.

Most common problems come from installing it wrong. 95% of (good) companies give you a first time start-up warranty. But then if starts up and blows up 5 minutes later because you didnt prime the oil pump correctly, it's your problem not theres, because it did start. ^_^

And in the words of SCC which I agree with wholeheartedly, unless you have a migraine fetish, make DAMN sure it comes with an ignitor chip AND mafs.

A lot of people will tell you, NEVER buy a motor without looking at it first. Even if you have to fly around the world, it can possibly save you money by checking it out, seeing a heatcrack in the exhaust manifold that they never saw, and not buying it because you called on monday morning and they didnt check it right. This isnt feasable for a lot of people, but if you dont do it, it will always be a gamble. Thats why some people tell you its a stupid idea.

I bought my engine (sr) through a company and had to wait 2 months longer than they told me, then ended up with no Ignitor, no MAFS, even though I was told they came with the set, and got an ECU from a CA18. Just plan on shit never going as expected.

And if you buy a motor on ebay you deserve connecting rods being shot out through the hood. ^_^ Goodluck whatever you do.

i have read plenty of time about people buying from ebay just because they are cheaper and what not, but i for sure will never order something that big from ebay, maybe a downpipe, gauges, etc. but never something that cost so damn much only to pretty much part it out. Now i have went to 10+ sites selling motors and found lots of different warranties, ways of packaging the engine/clip, parts that come with it, and everything else you can imagine. im thinking i might order from here http://www.store.yahoo.com/phase2motorsports/index.html and i know a lot of yall have heard of phase2motorsports and when it comes closer to time for me ordering the clip i will call them and have a question and concerns filled conversation with the sale department, and if i read right these people will send you another part for the engine if it came messed up before you install the motor, but im going to read the warranty over and over again to 100% understand it. :naughty:
