would this get louder

alright im thinking about making fiberglass boxes for the sides of my trunks and putting my two 12" in em.....but i have heard that if you have a glassed box to fire your subs into the box so that the magnet sticks out....does make it any louder/better than normal mounting?

it won't make any difference, it will just slightly increase the volume of the box you're using (since the sub's basket is no longer taking up any airspace)

o ok so its just pretty much for looks

yep .... especially if the speaker baskets/magnets are chromed or powder coated

I know what will make it better.....get better stuff the lagacy or whatever you have and put them in a big ported box.
