Killed A Turbo Focus Sti

I was driving to work and i see my freind ahead of me in his focus sti, he use to kill me when i had my 305 in it, so i caught up and pulled up next to him and at the next light we raced, he bet me a tank of gas, well we raced and he was suprised that i smoked him but i asked him what he did to his and he said he added a turbo and some other shit but i still killed him and got a tank of gas too bad it was 3/4 full, so i made him buy me lunch. i was just so glad i was able to beat his focus i know it's not the fastest car out there but he would clown me all the time saying that his four banger could beat my v8 and now he can't say shit,

so um, whats 1/4 and 0-60 times, if you know.I believe you beat the focus, thier a speacial breed of people. them and the civic guys are the fastest people in the world.

After reading all these stories and "kills" I have often wondered the 0-60 and 1/4 times of his lt1 equipped F-Body, but never cared enough to ask.

It's either a Ford Focus or a Subaru STi , Only Focus that was 'vicious' was the supercharged ZX3.

he prolly got the names mixed up anyway, its not like i actually know what all those little import letters mean anyway lol. what i got is that it was a svt focus, that used to woop on him, that is now turbocharged, but can't touch the lt1... is that what everyone else understood?

I dunno but Sti only stands for Subaru Technica international. and the SVT was who know s, ford is weird. The SVT didn't come equipped with a turbo charged so it must be a after market system so I see why it would stomp a 305. But bare bone to bare bone , the 305 would have won. The ZX3 came supercharged and offered something like 280 hp or whatever and was supposed to be fords version of the SRT -4 . But then again , the LT1 will kill all. =D

uhh... 390 horsepower is weak and slow? a truck that can run mid 13's and go straight from the track to pull your boat just as good as any other truck is weak and slow? there are some svt's that are weak and slow (contour, focus) but maybe you should learn the facts before making asinine comments like that.

I beat a SVT already. It wasn't fast , Neither was the lightning. Ford = #1 manufacturers of rolling turd buckets.

There is no Focus STi. I think he means SVT. The STi is a bad ass little Subby. And regarding acronyms...

you sound crazy to make fun of the svt team(i know your just playing) but the o3 cobra is eating anything on this board stock for stock, this isnt a flame war, and dont take this to heart, i can't beat a 03 cobra stock for stock either, but the head of svt also helped design the fordgt. and the svt contour is no slouch either.

the only truck that is worth a shit besides a chevrolet is the viper truck, man i saw one this morning on my way to work, black and all lowered and shit and i swear i thought that sum bitch was gonna pop a wheelie.

The SRT 10 with the dodge viper engine ? Yeah it's pretty neat but it's a truck which means it can't hit up some corners , Only good for pulling at slow speeds and going straight. It has a weight issue and a stability issue.

the svt lightning posted faster 1/4 mile times than the srt-10, and w/ better gas mileage. but in the beastlyness factor... the srt-10 wins lol

I actually got to race an SRT-10 last week on turnpike on the way to work. We started from about 80mph and it was dead even. I might've been taking them just a little by about 100 or so, but it was damn close. Freaking fast for a truck. It couldn't hang on the curves though :-D

You do realize that truck runs a quarter time that of a vette and a vette runs faster than a camaro. You would have lost unless he was governed. I dunno much about them except that they are pretty quick. I'm running almost 360 HP out my engine and I barely hung with one. Then again..I have a automatic...POS!!!

I want to run an SRT-10 just to shut people up. I look at it this way...

SRT-10=50k

lightning = 38-40k

ten grand will go a LONG way on a FI engine....

compare the prices of an 03 cobra and an 02 Z28
i believe the cobra is a pretty penny more.

them cobras are not all that anyway unless they are the supercharged 390hp ones, but even those arent all that my brother smoked one of those in his ls1.

stock for stock, there was not a production LS1 powered f-body that could hold a candle to the new supercharged cobras.


Personally GM has given me bitter feelings towards them since the production halt on the F-bodies. At least ford stood behind there perfomance platform and made it better, unlike GM and the money hungry ass munchers that run that company. That truck doesn't run the quarter faster than a Vette. Motortrend has it at 13.5 if I recall correctly. Fastest time I've seen according to other sources are around 13.3.... I kept up fine, and he wasn't goverened. Those trucks don't have one.
