I bought a 2000 ZX3 a couple of years ago, and last summer I added some bolt ons, including AEM cold air induction, underdrive pulley, 65 mm throttle body, and a performance computer chip. My question is, "Is it possible to install an adjustable rpm shift light?" I'd appreciate any advise as to what to get and how to install it. Thanks.

First off, I'm assuming that it's a manual....:) Don't need any ricey tachs with huge honkin' shift lights on an automatic...
Anyways, I would get an Autometer tach with a shift light. There should be instructions with it to help you install it.

You'll need the tach driver for the Ford ignition system.
Trying to avoid the "ricer" image is the only reason I have not installed a good tach in my car. Yes, it's a ZX3 and it came with the stock tach, but seriously, the Stock tach is a POS.
"Blip" your throttle. If done quick enough, you stock tach will still be climbing and you can HEAR you engine returning to idle. The stock tach has .25 -.5 second delay. It's not that serious, but it is annoying. They should have just not put one in the car...

Access the "test mode" in the Focus instrument panel by holding down the trip meter reset and starting the car. Scroll thorugh and eventually you come to the RPM. You can see the lag of the tach compared to the engine.
