99 B4000 Question about 4x4

Hello all.

I just bought a used 1999 B4000. The dealer told me after taking it out of 4x4 to back up 10 ft. however, the manual does not mention having to back up after taking it out of 4x4.

1. Must I put it in reverse and back up 10 ft. after taking it out of 4x4?

The manual also says as long as it is NOT below 32F you can put it in 4x4 high up to 45MPH, but does not tell you up to what speed if less than 32F :screwy:

2. When it is below 32F what’s the fastest I can be going to put it in 4x4 high?

i dont ever put it in four wheel drive unless i am going 20 miles an hour or less it is hard on the transfer case and also on the axles to the front.

Alright, because we got some snow and I was using it last night. I pretty much just left it in 4x4 the whole time, but the few times I did put it in 4x4 (high) I was only coasting... probably less than 5MPH.

What about putting it in reverse after taking it out of 4x4 High?
