93 Accord SE Overheating

Please help My accord is now overheating when I drive it. It started out just getting hot if I was idling for a long period of time and would cool back down after I started moving again. Now the needle stays at the H.

you can check under the hood to see if the radiator's fans still function (as if it still able to spin). there are two fans, one is for the heater and one is for the a/c. I had the overheating problem before, I took it to the auto shop to check, the guy had to replace the sensors for the fan, because one of the fans would not spin; it had to be replaced. I remembered one day, it was raining hard, but my car almost got overheated, haha could you believe that, but that's history, I had two sensors replaced, no more overheating. you may have to get your car checked. helping you with anything? =)

You could have a stuck thermostat. Just because the needle is at H doesn't mean the engine is hot. You could also have a bad sensor. Changing the thermostat is cheapest and easiest. You can remove the thermostat and put into a pot of antifreeze and then on the stove. With a thermometer you can see at what temperature it is opening if at all. I don't have the opening temperature at hand but any parts store can tell you. Traditionally the fans don't come on when driving if you are going fast enough. But they should come on if the water is too hot and the engine is not running or if you are running the airconditioner . Check fuses for the fans.
