respect = Evo>srt / by someone who owned an SRT-4 = getting your moneys worth (the fact that it sounds like money is not an issue in his home)

3 words: Nissan Altima SE-R (not sure if the last is a word)
That is one car I wouldnt mind owning. Not saying the 350z isnt also awesome.

isnt the 350z faster? i was just reading something on the altima se-r,and its only a little bit faster than the 3.5's that are already out.whats so special about the se-r model?

Well let me start with, I have always loved the new style altimas, and the se-r badge has had a huge heritage of enthusiasts... The mix was kinda enevitable.
However the SE-R basicly is a 3.5, however it is tuned to about 10 extra hp. Not much but 260 is nice, specially for a v6. It comes with a 6 speed manual (and you said you wanted a "stick shift car to tear ass"). It has a sportier look, including larger wheels and a "louder" exhaust system. It also has a much better suspension. All in the confort of a family sedan. It's not the fastest choice in the world, but it is a Nissan, and it's sporty. I know you were aiming at sportier, but from a sentra to a maxima to a ? I figured you were looking at 4 door.

^you're better off buying an 02-03 maxima and saving 13 thousand dollars. the only difference between the 2 cars is the independent rear suspension and a shorter throw on the shifter. that, and the altima is actually 75 lbs heavier than the Max now(SE-R only). Also, the SE-R only comes with summer tires so once winter rolls around be prepared to pay and additional $600-$800 for winter tires or all seasons.

I'm going to side with HighRev87 on this one. My mom just recently got an 04 Altima and that thing is a blast to drive. It's not the SE-R, parents didn't want to fork over the extra money, but for a 4-banger that sucker gets it.
It handles great through the corners, looks good, and is rather sporty. I wouldn't mind owning one if I got the chance.
Besides, what is the 0-60 on the SE-R, 4.5? That may be way off but I thought I remember it being close to 5 seconds. Isnt the Altima the fastest v6 in its class as well?

Not sure, it should be only a bit quicker than the regular V-6 altima, which run a 5.9 0-60.

i already have the 04 maxima, and as far as winter tires go,the place where i live doesnt get below 40 degrees.
but anyway..i drove the maxima tonight,i was impressed with the smoothness and comfort, the sound system was really nice.but acceleration didnt do much for me..i took it up to 80 on the highway and it got there faster than the sentra but not by too much.
probably b/c i had the ac on and i never have the ac on in the sentra.
but it seems like 1st and 2nd are pretty much the same.

i kinda just thought of this..the reason i like the sentra so much is b/c its kinda like a sleeper.people think its the 1.8 model and there like aww that shit is slow.(even tho its slow its not that slow).so then they race me and i kill them and they are like wtf.
