Electrical Problem - Camaro

95 Camaro - 3.8 ltr auto. - Intermittant loss of power while attempting to start. I insert key and turn to START position - all the usual dash lights come on normally, starter turns a rotation or two - then complete loss of power. Not even the courtesy lights come on - no clock - no headlamp/brake lamps, no power door locks, etc. DEAD. Let it set for a few minutes - try again - and it starts fine. As you can imagine, this is giving me fits! I've checked the battery, it's fully charged. Any ideas as to where the problem could be?

sounds like you just have a loose connection somewhere.. Try cleaning and tightening the battery posts.. sometimes that will make a world of difference..
Also check the connections on the starter, etc..

Well, the battery connections were tight, but....there was quite a bit of corrosion built up between the negative cable and terminal. I cleaned it off really good, then tightened the cables back down - and voila! Starts like a new car again! I wish all electrical probs were that easy to fix. Thanks for the help.

I would bet that you have an open conection under or around the steering column. I had a 95 that had never been modified and it caught on fire going down the highway. I got it shut down and everything, and then spent the next two days in my dash and found a factory wire that worn up against the metal in the column and caused a fire. I had to trace down the wire and replace it all, but saved the car. Hope it helps
