Idle rpms

when I turn on my car, it idles at 1.5 k rpms. When I put it in gear, it goes down to 1.25 k rpms. I heard its supposed to idle at .75 k rpms.
So what's the deal? What did I screw up this time? All I got is a custom intake (DAC from dc sports). Help! I am wasting gas!!

I have kinda the same problem but, reverse lol. My idle is only like at .5k or .25k. Its real low I dont know why  I'll take a pic of where it reads on the tach on idle

yeah, when the engine gets warmed up it goes to about .75 k rpms.

try turning it up by a little screw by the Throttle Body and where the throttle cable goes to the TB.

Yea, my car once warm dropes Idel to about .75k as well and then everything kinda shakes a little, but If I rev it to about 900 everything smooths out and my engine idles smooth, and quietly. Do you know how I would adjust that on my 92 accord?

ujmm i thought .75k rpm should be 750 rpm right? that should be about normal... when i got 100-200 that was bad...

so for mine i should turn it clockwise to turn it down?
or am I actually ok? It doesn't idle rough or make any weird noises...

Do you know if taking off the ground for the battery will mess with the alarm? Ihave a Clifford 7000 and I dont want it to mess up like the settings and stuff...I need confirmation on the screw by the throttle body to turn:D

dude when you start your car up cold its supposed to idle above warmed up idle speed. when i cold start mine it starts at 1.5k and slowly drops to between 500 and 800. there are a ton of factors involved and i would rather not get into great detail only to say that its normal. now if your cold start idle is like 2k+ then somethings wrong or if it bounces all over the place somethings wrong.
oh as for adjusting the idle, yes the little screw is what you wanna do. DO NOT TOUCH the throttle cable. also dont adjust it till its completely warmed up. and i do believe turning it clockwise lowers the idle and counterclockwise raises the idle. just turn it one way and if the engine bogs or stall's you know to turn it the other way or vice versa. your not gonna do any harm by stalling it if you go the wrong way. besides its not so fine of an adjustment that one false move will stall the engine or overrev it. its a very gradual process.

i would check the gap on your spark plugs that often causes idle problems as the gap gradually increases
