its been so long since i've posted here...no one probably remembers me. i havent been drawing much lately, my uni studies have taken over my life. well, i felt completely inadequate after looking at the pug design competition entries, so i decided to see what sort of standard my skills are at now. This was never intended to be a perfect 'presentation rendering' it's supposed to be quick and loose and just like the type of thing i would be expected to show the chief designer before i did the proper rendering and final sketches. I spent maybe 10 mins doing the drawing. used black biro on white printer paper. Using biro makes sure you get it right first time, as you cant errase biro. thats how i've been training my self the last few weeks, but normally just with doodles.
after the line drawing was complete i photocopied it and set about rendering. The car is supposed to be a two tone. grey bottom, greeny/blue top. darker tones of the grey or blue were made simply by waiting for the marker to dry, then putting another layer (or 3) on top. finally a touch of custom mixed blue pastel was added to the upper surfaces.
As i was scanning it in i decided to photo shop it slightly. lens flair for the lights, airbrush for the side highlights and an old anime drawing i did of a racing driver in the background.
let me know what you think :-)

Welcome back! How long has it been since you left? 4 months?
The car looks great. The tires are sloppy, and it looks too much like a solstice, but overall, The sketch is cool, and I like the concept. :bigthumb:
