I have a 1998 Jetta and I decided to disconnect the +ve battery terminal and when I reconnected it my radio which is protected by its alarm system went into SAFE mode. Does any one know how to get it : working again? :banghead:

SAFE-Means that the security code must be entered,if you have the service book it's located in the radio booklet.

You have 2 go 2 the vw dealer and they need you vin and the radio serial number (which is retrieved w/ a dealer scanner)

mine did the same thing so i went to a place where they install radios. ask if they can remove mine so that i can get the number on the side of it. After that and the vin number i called it in to the VW dealership and the hooked me up with the code.
