i was looking at getting two 12" mtx subs that i wanted to mount upside down. but i herd that you have to get a cd player that has a reverberation control, to get the right sound out of it. what i would lioke to know is this a common feature on players or do i need to find a special one. if so could you give me some ideas. i was looking at getting a sony xav-7w and wanted to know if this was good or i should go to i different company because i herd that sony doesnt make that great of car audio equipment.

it's not a reverb switch .... the guy said you need a PHASE switch. It just means the push when they should pull, and pull when they should push ....... as compared to the mids/tweets that are not out of phase. It's really just nonsense, the only time you have to worry about that is when one is mounted cone up and the other is mounted cone down.

their decks arent that bad. and if youre hooking up an amp to your highs, then all that really matters is that youve got 4 volt F/R/Sub outs... so the rest is just user options and appearance. I know the up scale alpine decks have a shit load of options so those are awesome, but the sony CDX-M630 and up are very nice HUs as well.

::clears throught:: not all subs will be jsut as loud mounted horizontaly as verticaly. you loost xmax and if it is over 33% then you will loose sound. and with the soft suspensions that sony uses i would be careful.

I think he meant inverted mounting (magnets out). And he's not getting sony subs he said MTX. Also loose suspension does not always mean a good loss in xmax....shivas only loose 3.35% and they have some VERY loose suspension. There's a frmula to determine it on Adire's site.
