noisey 5 speed

My '95 c1500's 5spd. trans has recently been making a whiney noise when accelerating/shifting through the gears. It almost sounds like a gear drive, but coming from the trans!!! Any suggestions on what the problem could be.

I'm guessing its the tranny 'cause it only makes noise when it's in gear and in motion.
