Thottle Cable Trouble

After performing every possible solution to fix my idle surge, i put everything back together, but now i have another problem, that i didn't have before. When i push my gas pedal down, first theres some slop(same as before, haha), but then it hits a wall, it becomes so hard to press down, then when it does move, it's stiff, but manueverable, until you release the pedal, then i can feel it hit that one bad point again. Its like something is way to stiff, or its lined up, or something. I have cruise control, and right now i have the cover off, so i can see the whole cruise, spinning black thing(can't really describe it). I did take off the accelerator cable wheni removed my thottle body, and did move the bracket as well. But i have re-attached it, and it is all smooth, so i can pretty much cancel the accelerator cable out. Any help, it is almost impossible to drive, because i have no throttle control on starts.

just an idea, lubricate the cable. take it off, then spray some wd40 down it and move it. worked for me.

The cable that runs all the way from the spinning thing, to the firewall? Yes? I just took the car out to see if i could drive it still. I can, but man, its not good, i have a weird hissing noise coming from the thermostat/pvc/all those other lines, area.

Nope, i just removed the cable, and it flows easy, the pedal also moves easily with the cable removed, so all the cables are fine. I hate cruise control, i know my problem is in the black spinning thing, or the cruise control is bad. I took the car out last night for a test run, and my cruise no longer holds it speed, i never use cruise control, is it possible to do a swap to a non-cruise control setup??

Search www.racingknowledge.org using my user name, I have posted the part number in the past.

Nevermind, I'm feeling generous today. I searched and found it, part number is MB948632. Its a little long, so make one loop behind the intake mani. You'll be amazed how much smoother and better the throttle responds with that CC junction box out of there. It also frees up a TON or space and you dont have that POS blocking everything on that side of the engine bay. I liked my cruise control, but I'll never go back.

hey kevin, is that number still what he needs even though he has a 1g not a 2g?

Doh! Good catch, I'm a dumbass. 1G is a piece of cake! Just go to the dealer and ask for the non cruise cable! It was actually an option, so its a no brainer. Man, am I a dumbass... :D

Thanks man, i'll probably get a used one from my local dsm mechanic, i just wanted to make sure its a easy swap. Hmm, i wonder if i can hook those cruise wires up to something else, maybe a little servo or something....hmm.

Thanks for all the help guys, i feel like an idiot now, it was just that the stupid throttle cable was out of the groove on the TB. I seriously checked that so many times, how could i have missed it! Oh well, now with all the adjustments, my throttle is actaully better and smoother than before, thanks again guys, now i'll know what to do if something else goes wrong.
