it would depend upon the application. what's the platform? the 3000GT doesn't have a true dual exhaust. tho i love the low rumble and hum of a dual exhaust with headers on an LT1 Camaro.

I like the way dual looks, too bad its not a true dual on the 3S but I guess that would mean two cats and piping which would drive up the price and weight. Dosent the 300ZX have true dual?

3000gt style dual exhaust: One down pipe one Cat, whish splits into two pipes that go back to the mufflers

True dual: 2 sets of cats and pipes one from each "Bank" of cylinders.
I.E. one pipe for the front 3 cylinders, one pipe for the back 3 cylinders (usu it would be one for left, one for right, but because of the engine placement, i said F&B)

would it be safe if i ditched the fake duals and just had one aftermarket pipe..cause it would lower the weight a good pit, and its cheaper. but does that other little shitty pipe realy make much of a difference...need imput

I think it looks great, I like total simetry on a car.

Nope the other pipe won't make a diffreence if you're running a single 3" pipe or even smaller possibly, it depends on the diameter of your downpipe. if it's only a 2" downpipe then a 3" catback won't really do much more than a 2" catback.

So, Nope it doesn't matter ;)

How dose the True Dual work on the vr4? Is there enough room under the car to run two different 3" pipes all through the car.

Don't think anyone has ever put true dual on a vr-4

It's just not practical for this specific application.

There's been a few true dual VR4's but everyone basically said it was a waste of money and just added weight.

lol, so its not worth the extra hp becaue of the weight???

You also wouldnt need 2 3" pipes, 2 2" pipes should be enough.

yes, the 300zx (z32(90-96)) has true dual exhaust...

and to me, it depends on the application...on a 3000gt i would take a true dual set up with nothing but 2 huge dual-tip mufflers, on on each side. that should give that low rumble that everyone loves. :D

So just to get it straight: cliffnotes for this thread, true dual exhaust for a 3/s is just a waste of money and a weight gain, but will make it sound lower...???

ya, sure it would make it sound lower. but so also would an aftermarket cat-back exhaust that's a replacement for the stock exhaust (fake dual like all the 3S's have).
