engine swap question

i was eventually wanting to swap the d-16 in my 96 ex w/ a b-16 out an si and put a type-r head on it. would i need to get the si tranny also or will the ex one work w/ the b-16 block? thanks for the help.

Get the tranny as well--less trouble for you. AFAIK no D-series tranny would fit a B-series, and vice versa, so you're better off getting the whole package.

buy the whole b series swap you will need it all, and you wont need a type r head the b16 head will work just fine...
