I just finished the body mods now im moving onto the engine. ive heard the b18a is good for boost but my engine has a lot of miles(240k). am i better off rebuilding the engine or putting in a new more powerful engine

here are my main concerns:i want to add boost and money is not growing on trees, but i want lots of power.any ideas on what will be the most cost effective for my 1990 integra.

with 10,000 you could buy a b18c1 or even a b18c5. Its really up to you how much you wanna spend on the engine and how much you wanna spend on mods. A b18b is a really cheap motor so if you'd rather spend ur money on turbo etc. etc, then get that, but if you want a good new engine with more power shell out the moeny for a b18c1 or c5

if you're wanting 300HP, rebuild your engine that you have now (or buy a b18b) and upgrade the internals, rods, pistons, sleeve it, maybe new injectors, and go turbo. it's really the only way to get that kind of power out of a 4 cylinder.

what about an h22 do you think that might be a good consideration. or should i go with the gsr.

with the h22 your defintely going to have to rebuild, because the internals are weak. i would recommend not going with the b18c1 because that's where my problem is now...the comp. ratio is high and not great for turbo.

basically like i said before, if you want 300HP you gotta boost it's the only fiscally logical way. i'd go with the b18b up the internals and boost if it was my car.

yeah id go with a b18b also, you can pick em up for cheap and they r awesome for turbo. H22a's are cheaper than b18c's but parts are more expensive and u'll end up spendin way more on it.
